CHARLOTTE, North Carolina—July 21, 2018—Mavendog, LLC is honored to receive the 'Above and Beyond' Award by the Department of Defense ESGR (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve) for North Carolina. The 'Above and Beyond' award is presented by ESGR State Committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). Mavendog is one of 50 organizations across North Carolina to receive the award this year.

Mavendog, LLC was selected for the award in March, 2018 and officially presented the award on July 21, 2018.

"We're humbled by the award. Mavendog will continue to do everything we can to take care of our amazing employees who balance military, professional, and family lives in support of our great nation," said Jon Vordermark, Managing Director. "We also would like to congratulate the other award winners. It was heart-warming to hear their stories and the impact that their Guard and Reservist leaders have had on their organizations. We go above and beyond in response to what they do for all of us."

As described on the ESGR website, "ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,750 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve."
