Many Mavendogs have military backgrounds, are transitioning military, are part of military families, or still serve through Guard and Reserve. We not only operate with their needs in mind, but weave their talent and capabilities into our recruiting strategy and delivery model.
Mavendog has been recognized by the Department of Defense's ESGR program (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve), receiving the 'Patriot Award' in July 2017 and 'Above and Beyond Award' in July 2018 for North Carolina.
As described on the ESGR website, “ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,750 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.”
Mavendog is a DoD SkillBridge employer. The SkillBridge program provides Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard Service members (including military spouses) with the opportunity to successfully transition into the civilian workforce.
Service members have the chance to be released from duty up to six months before their date of separation. They serve in a fellowship arrangement, receiving on-the-job training and work opportunities with a civilian company and industry of their choosing. As described in the SkillsBridge program overview, “When mission permits, [Unit] Commanders who support SkillBridge participation are helping their personnel transition more seamlessly from service to a civilian career.” For Mavendog, the firm benefits by gaining earlier access to the extensive experience, skills, and unmatched work ethic that a Service member traditionally brings to the firm and its flex project delivery model.

In providing career guidance and opportunities, Patriots Path is able to connect them with the larger community for continued networking and support. Patriots Path offers courses and workshops, mentoring programs, assessments, and networking opportunities throughout the United States:
